How long does it take sterling silver to tarnish and how can i clean it?
I bought my boyfriend a sterling silver promise ring and i am afraid it will tarnish. It has his initials on the top. I was wondering if and how long till it starts to tarnish? I also would like to know if there is a way to prevent tarnishing. and how do i clean it if it starts to tarnish.
depends on what silver you’re talking about…is it silverware? or jewelries? Because if you are talking about silverware it takes about 3weeks to a month before they tarnish but if you are referring to jewelries it depends on the acidity level of whoever is wearing the jewelry. Both sterling silverwares and sterling jewelries can be cleaned with a metal polisher named MASS (you can order it online) and it works great on silver and other metals as well. (if you can;t get it ASAP and really need it bad try toothpaste it worked for my jewelries) but try it on a small spot first to make sure your silver won’t have any bad reactions to the toothpaste
